Teen Sitcoms With Black Leads That Were Cancelled Too Soon.

Turning on the tv and seeing someone who looks like you in a leading role is something so important. It allows us to connect more with the characters while also inspiring us at the same time. A few teen shows with Black leads lasted a long time, while others didn’t last long enough. Some of these shows showed the experiences of Black teenagers or showed a different perspective of what it is like being a person of color on screen. A few of these shows talked about serious issues within our communities and showed the life of an everyday black family. While other shows had interesting premises that just so happened to be led by Black people. Whether that’s being the 15-year-old vice president of a major fashion company, going to a performing arts high school to follow your dreams or chillin’ in the white house. These shows were so important because we saw interesting stories through the eyes of minorities. While some of these iconic shows came to an end after telling a complete story, others, unfortunately, ended prematurely. Today, we’re going to be looking at some teen sitcoms with Blacklead characters that were cancelled way too soon.
